Magical Winter Weddings

Winter Weddings simply warm your heart. Open fires bring people together. Candlelit dinners with deliciously wholesome food bring so much joy to your guests. It’s that simple. So we are always surprised at how hesitant people can be about choosing Winter for a wedding.

Winter weddings come with a ready-made ambience. Let’s face it, Irish weather isn’t exactly predictable. So if you remove the weather worry from the equation, it takes a lot of pressure off so you can work on what details really matter.

Not to mention the cost savings. There really are a few significant savings to be had, by being smart with your dates and choosing an off-peak time that doesn’t compete with anything else in the calendar.

Also when it comes to suppliers, you have a lot more choice. Picking a high peak wedding time means you probably won’t get your first choice when it comes to photographers, videographers, cake suppliers, hair and makeup stylists etc. So why would you make it so hard on yourself?

There is also a certain panache when it comes to Winter wedding styling; thick fur coats, fairy lights, warm drinks at the Cuban bar and open fires. On-Site Civil Ceremonies

Important changes in Irish marriage law took effect from November 2007, meaning it is now possible for civil ceremony marriages to be held at venues in Ireland other than Registry Offices or Churches for the first time – subject to a number of conditions being met. So now the choice is yours as to whether you wish a more traditional Church Ceremony in one of the many churches in Kinsale and the surrounding villages, or whether you wish to have a civil marriage ceremony at our ideal Cork wedding venue.

At Ballinacurra House, Cork we were approved for our first civil wedding ceremonies in April 2008 which has paved the way for many couples to design the wedding they want to have and venue of their choice.

This has changed the way venues in Ireland operate and making those with extensive and private grounds an appealing alternative to the so called usual traditional church style weddings, making them the new ‘chapels of Ireland’.

All in the privacy of your own unique private estate for your bespoke wedding venue.

These civil marriage ceremonies can be performed by numerous officials – either a government appointed HSE Registrar, priests, ministers, rabbis, etc. – so long as they have the approval from the Irish Government to perform these ceremonies in a venue outside a church, and ‘provided the venue has been inspected and approved by the HSE in advance of the marriage ceremony’.

As one of the premier civil ceremony venues in Ireland we have hosted numerous civil ceremonies, civil weddings, blessings, humanist ceremonies and other multi-denominational ceremonies.
