“By far and away the star of the show for our trip around Ireland was Ballinacurra House – the best place anyone has ever stayed at. Beautiful inside and out, huge rooms, beautiful, usable grounds that the kids played on for hours.”

The Grounds

The grounds of Ballinacurra House have also undergone a massive regeneration programme. Many of the native species in the old forest of Cappagh Wood had been overrun and neglected for years. But this has now been brought back to its former glory – with some parts suitable for anyone of any age to enjoy whilst other parts are a little more difficult terrain for the young or young at heart. And there’s even a hint of the East in the garden. There is close to 40 acres on Ballinacurra House’s private estate including:

  • Beautiful south-facing terrace to the front of the Danford Ballroom, with steps leading down onto an outdoor entertainment patio with its own fire pit
  • Croquet lawn with a gazebo
  • Playground
  • Helipad
  • Vast lawns and gardens
  • Numerous ponds and streams
  • Small boat jetty
  • Forest pagoda
  • Woodland Walks
  • Ample guest parking
  • All-weather covered barbecue area
