The most important part of any wedding is the actual ceremony. The words – ‘I Do’ – only take a few seconds to say but the memory will last for a lifetime. So it should be as magical and as beautiful as your heart desires. We thought it would be nice to share some of the magic of Ballinacurra has to offer when it comes to ceremony options.
INDOOR OPTIONS
The Ballroom
For Indoor Ceremonies the Ballroom captures the opulence of Ballinacurra with tall French Doors that frame the picturesque landscape. The open fireplace and Georgian features and artwork in the Ballroom set a warm, intimate tone that guests love.
The Garden Room
Light and airy, the Garden room is another option for a whimsical location for the all important “I Do”s. The soft creams and gold decor, make it an elegant choice for larger ceremonies. Guests will enjoy the natural light and views out to the Terrace, which overlooks the sprawling lawn.
OUTDOOR OPTIONS
We love outdoor ceremonies and we are blessed with a number of outdoor options around the property. So we have a bit of flexibility for different weddings sizes and styles but more importantly a few areas outdoor that can be more sheltered if the weather does not co-operate. A delicate balance of landscape and architecture creates a sense of unequalled atmosphere outdoors at Ballinacurra.
Though indoor ceremonies are intimate and cosy, there is something very serene and earthly about having a ceremony out in the open air, surrounded by nature. The breath taking views of the natural surroundings and the view of the water in the distance, creates the feeling that the the world has taken pause for this special moment. A manicured lawn spills down to the timeless Monet pond and Asian foot bridge, and on to the Private Jetty, overlooking the Bandon River.
The Sundial Lawn
Our sundial lawn is the perfect suntrap. Even on windy days, this little gem is quite sheltered. There are two options here, depending on personal choice of what couples want the backdrop to look like. Couples love how the low surround wall wraps around the entire ceremony and frames the moment. In fact, many have stayed in this area for the drinks reception and moved the music and entertainment to this area. It is also a cosy spot for more relaxed speeches, for couples that would rather get them out of the way at this time – a trend that we are seeing more of actually.

Some couples prefer to have the breathtaking views of the lawn as the backdrop for the ceremony, with the grandeur of the house behind them.
The Croquet Lawn
On a sunny day, there really is no better option that the croquet lawn, taking in the fabulous views on the property. Again there are two option here

After the ceremony, guest only need to drift up as far as the terrace for the drinks reception.
The Rotunda
We are very excited about this new and fabulous additional to Ballinacurra and will have it’s own unique charm. These piece was sourced ans shipped from abroad and we are currently tranforming the designated area that will be its new home. This area will work really well for smaller and more intimate ceremonies or for those looking to capture some unique photographs on the grounds. Below is an image of our inspiration for this new space.
We are thrilled to give couples so much variety when it comes to ceremonies because in our experience, couples want their ceremony and photos to be different to any other wedding they have seen or attended. We will continue to push the boundaries of our property to continue to offer something fresh and new for couples, so that they can create their own perfect memories that they can cherish for ever more.
